Trade this clunker for a hybrid Toyota
Love the look of that new hybrid Toyota but can’t afford it right now, even with the great deals you could get at one of our Toyota dealers in Missouri? A new “cash for clunkers” bill may be able to help you out, if Toyota can wrangle a compromise.
The bill is aimed at getting old, less-efficient vehicles off the road because they contribute to pollution. The bill would offer anywhere from $3,000-$7,500 to owners of vehicles at least eight years old. The money has to be put toward a more fuel-efficient vehicle, and the best miles-per-gallon ratings would get the higher of those vouchers.
All sounds like great news for Toyota, since the new hybrid Toyota is the most fuel-efficient vehicle currently on the market. A new hybrid Toyota Prius gets an EPA estimate of 47 miles per gallon in the city and 60 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s a lot of gas savings just for trading that old clunker in for a beautiful new hybrid Toyota!
Unfortunately, the bill currently doesn’t cover the Prius hybrid since it’s built in Japan, and currently any foreign-built cars are excluded from the bill. The bill’s still going through debates, though, so keep your fingers crossed that fuel efficiency will win out in this argument – and have you driving that new Toyota hybrid soon.
Even if you can’t trade in your old clunker, you can still get a fantastic deal. Drop by your St. Louis Toyota dealer today to check out the latest in hybrid technology.
