How to Get Your Used Certified Toyota Ready for Spring

Take your certified Toyota out for a spring drive
Spring’s here, and it’s great driving weather again. Time to roll down the windows in your used certified Toyota and hit the open road. If you want to get the best out of your certified Toyota, though, it’s best you take a few precautions before heading out.
Check your used certified Toyota’s tires. The winter can be vicious on tires, so check them for regular wear and tear, check the air pressure, and think about having them rotated. If you put on snow tires for the winter, it’s about time to switch them back. Don’t forget to check the spare, too – nothing’s worse than a flat tire with a bum spare.
Stay safe with new wiper blades. Winter snow and ice can cut grooves in your wiper blades, making them ineffective in that first spring deluge. If you can’t wipe away the rain to get your visibility back, you can get into a lot of trouble out there. Make sure to get new wiper blades on your used certified Toyota for maximum safety.
Put on the brakes. Mud, salt, and dirty snow can make your brakes work harder and sometimes cause more rapid wear and tear than you’re expecting. Double-check your brake pads and do a quick skid test to make sure you can still count on those brakes in a pinch – or in a sudden spring shower.
Check your fluids. It’s no fun changing fluids in the winter when it’s cold out, so a lot of us wait until spring to do it – and at that point, your used certified Toyota really needs it. Change the oil, drain your coolant and add fresh, and check the levels on your windshield wiper fluid and brake fluid.
With just a few little tune-ups here and there, your used certified Toyota will be ready to hit the road and give you a great drive all spring. Need a quick springtime tune-up? Stop by your friendly neighborhood St. Louis Toyota dealer and pull into our service station.
