St. Louis Toyota
In a report recently released by the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the national Hot Spots – for car theft – were tallied. Car thefts are down overall nationwide, and thankfully, no city in Missouri broke the top 10 (California’s in a bit of trouble, though). For our St. Louis area certified Toyota lovers, we have some good news: your car is safer here than in Kansas City.
The report shows that Kansas City is 38th in the nationwide rankings, with 9,251 car thefts in 2008 (that’s over 400 car thefts every month!). Car owners in Kansas City are nearly twice as likely to suffer a car theft than those in St. Louis, whose ranking is only 68th. Springfield runs a comparably close third at 79th.
Car thefts are down overall, possibly because the market in general isn’t buying new (or stolen) cars right now. Don’t let your guard down just because car thefts have gone down, though – St. Louis certified Toyotas are still in high demand among car thefts because of their reliability and easy-to-find parts.
