Get Your Hybrid Toyota Up to Speed

hybrid Toyota Prius conversion
It’s no secret that we love our hybrid Toyota Priuses, but there’s been one small snag that has bothered some customers: at lower speeds, the engine runs on electric power alone, which is great. At higher speeds, the regular engine kicks in, which is . . . not necessarily so great. This generally happens at about 34 miles per hour, which means you start using gasoline at this point.
That’s why it’s so cool that these guys from Southern California came up with a software that lets your hybrid Toyota run on battery power all the time, which can give you a fuel economy of – wait for it – 170 MILES PER GALLON. The car can run up to 70 miles per hour for about 25 miles – certainly enough for most commuters to enjoy.
That’s pretty amazing, don’t you think? Being able to plug your car in and then run it for 25 miles on electricity alone?
So far, the technology is a wee bit expensive, but then again, it’s still cheaper than buying the alternatives on the market. If you’ve already got a Toyota Prius puttering around in your garage, this is definitely a worthwhile conversion to look into. By spending a little more for the conversion, you may be able to really recoup the difference over the long run. Remember when your gas bills dropped by more than half when you first got your new hybrid Toyota? Now imagine them doing that again. Three times. Not too shabby, eh? It’s really a pretty great thought.
If you don’t know what we’re talking about because you haven’t experienced the Prius yet, head on over to your hybrid Toyota dealer in Florissant and have them explain the fuel mileage advantages to you. You’ll be a convert in no time – and you’ll be wanting a piece of this new software, too. Of course, you’ll need to look into how it affects your warranty, so make sure you discuss your options before making any major changes.
