Road Trip Ergonomics and Your Hybrid Toyota

When you drive your hybrid Toyota around St Louis, MO, you’re probably not giving much thought to the ergonomics of your position. Sure, the vehicle is built for comfort, so there’s not much you need to do. All the same, finding the best ways to keep yourself in an ergonomically correct position is just as important on your commute as it is for a long distance road trip. Here’s some advice on how to get yourself comfortable and keep you feeling good.
When’s the last time you checked your seat position in your hybrid Toyota? If other people drive your car, this is especially important. You should have the seat positioned so that your thighs rest comfortably on it, but your knees are past the edge of it. You should be close enough to reach the pedals comfortably, but far enough away so that your legs aren’t bumping into the steering column as you drive. If you are cramped or have to stretch to reach any controls as you drive, your body is probably not in the right position.
If you like to change the radio station as you are driving your hybrid Toyota, be sure to keep your seat in the correct position to reach it. You need to be able to change the controls without having to look away from the road. If they are in easy reach, you can just press the tuning buttons and have a new station playing while your mind stays on the drive.
No matter where you drive, be sure to get comfortable in your hybrid Toyota. The seat is meant to be adjusted to fit your body. With proper comfort and a good fit, you’ll hardly notice you are on the road at all.
