Child Safety in Your Pre-Owned Certified Toyota

If you’re driving children in your certified Toyota, you’ve probably given some though to how to keep them safe in the vehicle. Sure, you have them in appropriate car seats or booster seats, and you make sure they are buckled in safely. You also never leave them alone in the car. There are other safety tips that you should think about, however, and some of them come pre-installed on your car.
Have you ever wondered why windows in the back seat almost never roll down more than half way? Well, it’s to help make sure that children and pets can’t get free and fall out of the window as you drive through St Louis. Many new cars take this safety one step further. Have you looked for a window lock on your driver’s side control panel? You may be able to press a button that will keep anyone in the back seat from opening the windows. This way, you don’t have to worry about anyone or anything falling out of the windows as you drive through Missouri.
Another great option is child locked doors. This function will keep the back doors from being able to be opened from the inside. You’ll need to check the owner’s manual of your pre-owned certified Toyota for the location of this function. Once you set it, however, you can be sure that your children won’t be able to open their doors. When you are ready to get your children out of the car, you can easily open the doors from the outside of the vehicle, keeping you in control of when your kids get in and out of the car.
Keeping children safe in cars isn’t very difficult, but it does require some thinking ahead. Pay attention to window locks as well as to the child lock feature in your certified Toyota. You’ll be able to keep your kids safe and secure in the car and have less to worry about as you drive.
