Bumper sticker on a Toyota CamryAs you drive your pre-owned certified Toyota around St Louis, you probably see some decorations on other vehicles. Perhaps the easiest way of decorating a car is the bumper sticker. While they now come in a variety of shapes and sizes, they were traditionally rectangular and had a message on them that the driver wished to present to the world. From political slogans to advertising, bumper stickers have become a piece of American driving history.

Can you remember some of the more famous bumper stickers? How about the ones giving a 1-800 number to call of the driver isn’t following the rules of the road, or stickers announcing that the driver’s child is an honor student at their school? We’ve all seen stickers like these on certified Toyotas throughout Missouri. There have always been funny bumper stickers, and now some of these are made with sparkling materials or in interesting shapes in order to catch peoples’ eyes.

One great advance in bumper stickers is the magnetic sticker. Before, if you put a bumper sticker on your certified Toyota, it was there to stay. These stickers are meant to withstand the weather, so they use strong adhesives. With a magnetic sticker, you just place it on your car and go. You can remove the sticker any time, and even shift the magnet around if you’d like.

If you do need to remove some actual adhesive from your certified Toyota, however, here are some tricks. You can try spraying the sticker with WD-40. You may have to razor the sticker first so that the lubricant can seep in, however. Once the adhesive has dissolved, you can slowly peel off the sticker. Use rubbing alcohol to remove the residual adhesive, and your bumper should be sticker free.

Reading bumper stickers can be great fun on the Missouri road, but be sure to keep your eyes on the road while you are driving. There’s plenty of time to check out those stickers when you are at a red light, after all.
