Bumper Sticker And Window Tinting Removal

You may have recently made an excellent investment in the form of a new or used Toyota purchase. If you did it the smart way, you visited the Jim Lynch Toyota dealer in St. Louis. If you purchased elsewhere you may have ended up with the wrong vehicle or worse, a vehicle that has unwanted bumper stickers or tinted windows. The removal of bumper stickers and tinting on the windows can be an extremely a tedious and meticulous task. If not done correctly, you may end up with more of a mess than you began with.
To remove bumper stickers from the bumper, or other painted portions of the vehicle, you can try one of two techniques. First try to spray down the sticker with a lubricant, such as, WD40, and then peel off. If you’re lucky this will be all that is required. You may need to try the technique similar to removing wallpaper from a wall. Soak the sticker with a hot, wet rag. You may need to apply heat throughout the removal process by use of a hairdryer, in order to keep the adhesive soft and pliable. If you still have bumper sticker remnants, try a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and it should do the trick.
Removing tint from the windows will be a little more demanding of your time and patience. Apply a layer of straight ammonia to the window on the tinted side. Cover the ammonia layer with a thin piece of plastic, so the ammonia does not have a chance to evaporate or dry. It may be best to do this in the sun to reap the benefits of the heat, as well.
Begin at the corner and peel back the tinting slowly. You may want to use a razor blade to scrape the material as you peel back. If you take the time to properly remove the tinting it should be fairly easy. If you do it too fast or carelessly you may end up with a patchy removal job.
