Most Americans, and people all over the world, are well aware of the brand Toyota. In fact, if you have recently purchased a new or used Toyota know this for a fact. They are a major automotive manufacturer that has been delivering a quality product year after year.
With the recent catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, Toyota has extended their helping hand. On January 15th, Toyota announced that it will donate a total of $500,000 in the Haiti relief effort. The total dividend will be equally divided among the American Red Cross, Save the Children, and Doctors Without Borders. In addition, if a Toyota team member or associate makes a personal donation, Toyota will match it, as well.
Yoshi Inaba, president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor North America Inc., comments on the charitable donations:
“All of Toyota’s nearly 34,000 associates and team members in the United States express their sincere condolences to the victims and families affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Our hope is that Toyota’s support will quickly aid those in need, and we thank all three organizations for their courageous efforts in the region.”
If you would like to join peoples from across the globe and other major businesses in the Haiti relief effort you are not alone. Many people are choosing to donate in various ways. You can make a financial donation to the American Red Cross via mail at PO Box 37243 Washington, D.C. 20013, by phone at 1-800-257-7575, or via their website http://www.redcross.org. Such donations will go towards the purchase of supplies and travel expense of the relief aid workers.
If you are not in a position to make a financial donation, but would like to make a contribution, you can make a blood donation. Soon there will be a shortage of blood needed to provide necessary medical care to people directly affected by the quake.
Make a commitment to a donation today to provide relief to the People of Haiti.
