Toyota Takes Three Places!

It’s more normal than ever to see a billboard or advertisement telling of a new environmentally friendly product or vehicle. In fact, it would be difficult to make it through a newspaper or magazine with coming across a handful of articles on the subject. Each year, it seems, the auto industry is put under increasing pressure to come up with a new model or significant improvements on an old model, to make a dramatic difference in its efficiency.
Topping the list of most fuel efficient 2010 cars and SUVs is the Toyota Prius. The Prius was the first of the line of Toyota cars to make its entrance into the green scene. It was a frontier model and still holds strong taking the top place of the list. It is efficient, getting a combined 50 mpg, and incredibly affordable, starting at just $22,400. It is a classic hybrid that is easy to come by for any budget level, making it one of the best fits for every American family.
Following the Toyota Prius act is the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid, the 2010 Honda Insight, the Ford Fusion Hybrid, as well as, the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. All of these vehicles are efficient, but will end up costing you a bit more than the Prius.
Coming in at number nine was, yet another Toyota car, the 2010 Camry Hybrid. This vehicle has a beginning price of $26,150 and gets, on average, 34 mpg. It doesn’t quite measure up to the mileage of the Prius, but still impressive enough to make the top ten of 2010.
Toyota took number 13 of 20 with the 2010 Yaris. This is a compact vehicle that packs an efficient punch. It is available as a three door hatchback, a five door hatchback, or a 5-door sedan, which renders 32 miles per gallon and will only set you back $12,355 (for the three door model). It is definitely affordable as well as efficient and is well deserving of a spot on the list.
